Wednesday September 6, 2006 the Mudheads are putting on a Golf Tournament at Shennecossett Golf Club in Groton.. It is open to all active Mudheads and their guests. Put together a foursome from your race boat and let's have some fun whacking that white ball around the lot.

The entry fee is $200 per team which includes 18 holes of golf, 2 carts, a sleeve of monogramed golf balls, tees and beer and wine after the round on the porch of the Par Four where you can share your stories. The Par Four will be serving food, but you are on your own.

    This will be a best ball scramble with a shot gun start, provided we get 25 teams to compete. Best ball, for those new to this sport, means each member of your foursome hits their drive and you play your next shot from the location of the best shot. And so on for each shot. The only requirement is that you use two drives from each player during the round. The shotgun start means we will assign starting holes for each foursome and everyone will start together, play 18 holes and return to the clubhouse.

There will be prizes for the top 3 teams with low scores. Plus, closest to the pin, straightest drive and longest drive. We also will give away a brand new JY-15 for a hole in one on one of the par 3 holes. Really! Your chances are 1 in 8000.

There will also be other prizes and awads as deemed appropriate by the grand golf gods putting this thing on.

If you would like to advertise your business, we are also selling Tee Box Signs to one and all for only $50 a piece. donations are also being accepted for prizes and gifts. We might even have a raffle.

Tee off time is expected to be about 1 pm, so plan to take the day off and have some fun with your crew mates, fellow competitors and club members. Guests of Mudheads are welcomed, but we ask for at least two Mudheads per foursome.
