The Course is from Horseshoe Reef, south to Cerberus Shoal, then a circumnavigation of Block Island, in either direction, back to Cerberus, then back into the Race with the Finish off of Ram Island Bell 20.   About 65 miles with the big choice...clockwise or counter clockwise around Block?   On Friday night, the Ebb Tide will be at it's max about 1930, perfect to get you well into Block Island Sound.  Then it's roll the dice, watch the wind and find the tactical advantage or plain old boat speed to get around the track.

The speed record to beat is 9 hours 9 minutes and 48 seconds elapsed time set by Scott Baker and Moise Solomon in their Mumm 30 Kaizen in 2007.   Last year, Doug McDonald's Euphoria won the Mudhead Blow Hard Trophy with the best corrected time of just over 13 hours.  John Fries' Remedy was the winner in 2008.   Who will it be in 2010?

The race is open to all ECSA boats, spinnaker and cruising divisions and we also have a double-handed division.  We usually have a single class start and then hand out awards at the mid season Mudhead party on July 7th at Noank Village Shipyard.   Our famous Gumball Trophies will be presented again to the winning boats.  What a great way to get your holiday weekend started with a sprint around Block!    Click here for the Entry Form and Waiver.
